November has become an iconic month for fundraising. Whether it’s No-Shave November or Grow a Mo to Save a Bro, participation is increasing each year contributing to the necessary funding for groundbreaking projects on behalf of men’s health.
The Movember Foundation is making significant strides in bringing awareness for several issues, including mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. What began as two friends having a beer and joking about bringing the mustache back, has turned into a true fundraising phenomenon with millions of participants across 20 countries. Not only have their donations been able to support more than 1,250 men’s health programs, but Movember events evoke important conversations that save lives.
SOLJETS wanted to do their part to raise money and bring awareness to men’s health issues by hosting their very own charity event – Movember Stache Bash 2021. In early October, SOLJETS encouraged employees, clients, and friends to start growing their beards for what would ultimately turn into marvelous mustaches. The event took place on November 2nd with a festive-filled evening in downtown Park City, UT. SOLJETS enlisted the help of Billy’s Barber Shop to complete a total of twelve mustache shaves for persevering participants. In conjunction, SOLJETS hosted a fundraising event at The Spur Bar & Grill post-shave for everyone to gather and enjoy a night of camaraderie – mustache or not!
During the event, SOLJETS’ guests donated a total of $1,500 – combined with the firm’s donation – totaled an overall contribution of $5,000 to the Movember Foundation. “Our goal was to bring awareness to men’s health in a fun way,” said Amber Langhart, Director of Marketing. “We had an incredible turnout and are so grateful for the participation and donations from clients and friends to help men live happier, healthier, and longer lives.”
